Opportunity Grant
Program Overview
The Opportunity Grant helps low-income adults train for high-wage, high-demand careers. You may be eligible to receive funding for tuition and fees up to 45 credits (one year full time, or spaced out to a maximum of 3 years to complete your studies). Before continuing, please verify that the program you are interested or enrolled in is listed below in the "Qualifying Programs" section.
If you are enrolled in a qualifying program and want to see if you are eligible for the Opportunity Grant at Wenatchee Valley College, please fill out our Interest Survey and one of our staff members will contact you.
To be eligible for the Opportunity Grant you must:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA, for undocumented students only) and demonstrate unmet financial need
- Be a Washington state resident
- Have an annual household income at or below the following (200% of federal poverty level)
- For a 1 person household $29,160 ($2,430 per month)
- For a 2 person household $39,440 ($3,287 per month)
- For a 3 person household $49,720 ($4,143 per month)
- For a 4 person household $60,000 ($5,000 per month)
- For a 5 person household $70,280 ($5,857 per month)
- For a 6 person household $80,560 ($6,713 per month)
- For a 7 person household $90,840 ($7,570 per month)
- For an 8 person household $101,120 ($8,427 per month)
- For a 9 person household $111,400 ($9,283 per month)
- For a 10 person household $121,680 ($10,140 per month)
- For an 11 person household $131,960 ($10,997 per month)
- For a 12 person household $142,240 ($11,853 per month)
- For a 13 person household $152,520 ($12,710 per month)
- For a 14 person household $162,800 ($13,566 per month)
- Maintain a 2.0 grade point average
- Be enrolled in a qualifying degree or certificate program (see list of qualifying programs below)

- Drafting Certificate of Completion (one-year)

Allied Health
- Chemical Dependency Studies ATS
- Emergency Medical Technician Certificate of Completion
- Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion
- Medical Laboratory Technology ATS
- Pharmacy Technician AAST
- Nursing Assistant Certificate of Completion
- Associate Degree in Nursing (RN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Radiologic Technology ATS
- Funding for tuition and fees up to 45 credits (one year full time, or spaced out to a maximum of 3 years to complete your studies)
- Funding for required books and supplies
- You may also be able to receive support services such as tutoring, career advising, college success classes and possible emergency assistance
